We started this process on Sunday AM. On Thursday, Nick went poop and pee in a restaurant and has had about 3 accidents in between. I am going to say he is potty trained. I don't know whether it was the program or timing and I do not care! Thanks for your program. He did not need all the steps, but the ones I used worked. I think the mental prep for the kids and the parents was the most important.

I have to tell you that I don't normally make comments about products I try. But I want to thank you for your book. I didn't use all the info because I was already in the process of potty training my little boy (he will be 3 in April). And didn't want to start over. We had already been working on potty training for about 5 days and he was doing great with the peeing not so much with the pooping, just went in his underwear every time. So I used the "Poopy present box" idea, I filled it with a bunch of hot wheel cars, it worked like a charm now he tries to poop every time he is on the toilet (and gets mad if he doesn't need too) so he can get a new present. We are on day 2 with no accidents and I am so excited to be diaper free! Thank you for the idea. I will definitely be referring friends.

Much Success!! I downloaded your book the day after my twin girls turned 3 on February 15 and it's now been almost 2wks. They are fully potty trained. We have not had any accidents during the past 4 days and they are both self-initiating now. Thank you, I thought this time would never come now it's another hurdle that I have overcome with the twins. I now believe that eventually we will get through nap and bedtime without diapers.

Just wanted to let you know how much I loved your book. We had tried for over a year to potty train my son. He just refused to go. He would scream every time we tried to get him on a potty. I finally bought your book and tried the technique. It was wonderful. We were successful within a week. My son was finally pee-pee potty trained at age 3 1/2. I just wanted to say thank you, this program worked wonders for my son Luca-we just finished up week 3 and he has had minimal accidents in the past 2 weeks (maybe 3). He is telling me that he has to use the bathroom (but I still remind him if it's been awhile). We have not worn diapers since we started and he "gave" his away to babies! We haven't conquered nights, naps, or BM's but I feel like we climbed a never ending mountain in just one day. She woke up asking to use the potty and that is huge...no accidents all day! Let's just say we attempted potty training back in May and after not much success at all... due to lack of potty training methods and pull-ups that just confused him more I decided to take a break for the summer since he was refusing to go at all. Well summer came and went in pull-ups and all summer I had been prepping Elias that we weren't going to be in pull-ups anymore. I was bound and determined to find another method; I mean there had to be something better than just going blindly into potty training... I mean there had to be. Absolutely LOVED the book! It worked like a charm on my little one! We were "graduated" in 4 days. Thank you for freeing me from the world of diapers (except for nap time :D)

If I was asked if there was one thing about parenting that I most dread, I would say potty training. I decided that since I was going to be laid off work for a week, this would be a good time to get it over with. My son was 26 months, so I felt it was time to ditch the diapers. I started the "recruitment" about 2 weeks before I would be off work. He was already able to tell me where his pee and poop went but really did not seem to have a realization about where it came from. The first day of boot camp was rough, I must admit. My son had 10 accidents but did have 10 "accidental" successes (going while he just happened to be sitting on the potty chair). He would be standing there peeing and would not even notice, even though it was dripping down his leg! I was dissapointed that he had not self-initiated that first day but Suzanne reassured me that this was not terribly unusal and to focus on his successes. Day 2 started slow but at around 10am he said the words I was waiting for..."gotta go potty". When he got up from his afternoon nap, we started with the "naked intervals". He had a couple accidents but self-initiated a couple more times. On day 3, he had 2 accidents in the morning and I was getting a little frustrated. Then at lunch he said to me "go potty". I hurried him to the potty chair and after sitting on the chair for a few minutes, he had a huge BM! Self-initiated! He had only one accident the rest of the day! On day 4, he did not have an accident until daddy came home from work, I think he was so excited to see him that he totally was not paying attention. On day 5, no accidents, even though this was the first day he was back in pants! That did not seem to set him back. That was 2 and a half weeks ago and my son is doing well. He has an occasional accident and that is usually when he is outside and gets too busy playing and waits too long. Since going through potty boot camp he has only had 1 BM accident. I cannot say enough about how helpful it was to have Suzanne there for support. I emailed her almost every night (and sometimes during the day) and she always responded and was super supportive and patient. She gave me encouragement and suggestions when I asked for them. I cannot say enough about this program and Suzanne. I will use this with my younger son when the time comes! Thank you!

Dear Suzanne, I purchased your Ebook 15 days ago and my daughter is now toilet trained! Isabella will be 27 months old tomorrow and we are thrilled to be celebrating it diaper/pull up free! I'm a full time single mom and don't have time or energy to read long, drawn out books on potty training. Your book is fabulous because it's short, to the point, gives straightforward instructions and it works! It's that simple. Suzanne, I just had to share my testimony. My daughter, Brilyn, was 29 months old in February. I was tired of the diapers and wanted to be done with them. I did some "googling" and came across "The Potty Boot Camp." I got the ebook, read it, made some notes and decided to do it. I prayed and asked God to help me through this process. I also ordered the potty watch. For a few days, I had my daughter going with me to the bathroom and she would sit on her potty, too. I explained to her that next week she would be wearing big girl underpants. How excited we were! Well, on that Monday morning after breakfast at about 8:30, I put on her big girl panties. I followed your steps, giving her treats when dry. At about 11:00 she came to me with a little bit of pee coming down her leg. I took her to the potty and she finished peeing. I did not do the "drill" at that time since she kinda made it to the potty. At NOON, she initiated peeing AND pooping! How amazing! And she has only had 2 pee pee accidents in 2 ½ months; one with a friend and one with dad, ofcourse (smile). Potty trained in just 3 ½ hours! Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom. It TRULY helped me. As a matter of fact, I shared it with my sister-n-law to try with my 3 year old nephew, who was quite resistant to potty training, and it worked for her too! I recommend this to anyone in the process of potty training. I was blessed that it happened so quick with me and I realize it won't be that way for everyone but it sure beats pull-ups and diapers! Thanks for the concise book! We did it last weekend with our 31-month-old son. He has been using the potty off and on since he was 18 months old, but we never pushed him to make it "official," just gave him plenty of support and encouragement and figured he'd switch when he was ready...On Day 1 he went through 7 pairs of underpants; on day 2 (no timer -- all potty breaks initiated by him or by us as part of another activity like leaving the house for a walk or outside play) it was down to 4, and on day 3 he had only 1 accident! He has had only two accidents in the past four days, both at his mother's morning out program -- in both instances, he told his teacher he needed to go and they went, but they had to wait for the bathroom to be free and he couldn't hold it long enough. I think he's doing fantastic!Thanks again, and best of luck to you!

I am not sure what finally did it, but Kaylie is totally potty trained now. No more peeing in her panties or when we leave the house. She is 23 months old, almost 2 years...her birthday is on February 3rd and I can't believe we did it already. And yes I mean WE...it was such a joint effort between Kaylie and I. She is so happy not having to wear a diaper, she hates putting them on for night time, but she doesn't always stay dry during the long night and until she does then it is diapers to bed. She is able to wear panties for naps and everything else. Yesterday was one of our biggest tests because we were out of the house all day visiting family and she did fantastic. My husband didn't realize how serious we were until he say it himself, it is so great! My family members are all shocked that I have a potty trained "big" girl now! Thank you for the book, I was able to use that along with things I know about my daughters personality and get her potty trained in less than 2 weeks! We followed your method in March when he was 27 months. We pee before naps and bedtime but his diaper is always soaked! Jett started potty boot camp last Monday (Aug 17). He is doing so well. He's letting us know that he has to peepee. He is going to the potty on his own sometimes. The Potette potty is great to have in the car and take into restaurants. He is able to go for 1-2 hours without going potty and he is having very few accidents (0-1 per day). My son turned 3 on August 9th. I used your book for the week of August 10th 2009 thru August 15th 2009. I could not believe it he was FULLY POTTY trained when he went back to pre-school on August 17th. This is a WONDERFUL BOOK.

I'm very happy with Potty Boot Camp. I was introduced to it by a friend and really, before that, I was going to wait another 4 months because we are going to Italy and I didn't want to deal with accidents over seas... on a plane, etc. But when I read your short (THANK GOD) practical book, I was convinced I had to start right away. I was overwhelmed by all the other 4000 pages of potty training theories and how-to's out there that this one actually seemed manageable and sensible and straight forward! Potty Boot Camp was wonderful!! We started on Saturday morning about eight a.m. By 12 pm, Sam was initiating potty time by himself, and has not looked back. He had no more accidents that night. The next morning (Sunday) I woke up to find him standing in the kitchen with his pull up around his ankles (used pull up for bed time only). He had pooped in his potty, dumped it in the big potty, and wiped-- all before I was even out of bed!!! We didn't even have to do the naked day on day two because he was using the bathroom by himself, wearing his big boy pants. Only one accident that day and that was right before bed time when he didn't make it in time. We are now on day four and he has had no more accidents and continues to initiate potty by himself. Thank you thank you thank you! Its a miracle!!!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! Potty training has been a huge struggle for us. We tried to start potty training last summer and our then 22 month old son seemed to be catching on. Then baby brother came in October and the desire to use the potty went by the wayside. I bought your book this week and we gave it our best shot. My now 2 1/2 year old son went from absolutely refusing to use the potty on Tuesday (pre-Boot Camp) to diaper free on Wednesday with only one accident. He initiated going to the potty just 2 hours in on the first day. Four days in, we are absolutely accident free and he is pretty much going entirely on his own. Wellllllll just a few minutes ago I was watching tv and she walked over and sat on the potty. I heard a few grunts and thought could it be??? When she stood up she'd had a huge BM!!!! I called daddy into the room and we had the biggest, goofiest happy dance ever and my baby girl said yayyyy I did it!!!!!!!. I am so excited I feel like I've won the lotto. Just wanted to say that I LOVED this book, and I have been telling all of my mom friends!! Our 3 year old was way too busy to even consider learning for us, and I had begun to fear she'd never be out of diapers. I was pretty skeptical at first, but figured the boot camp was at least worth a try. Well, thanks to this book, my daughter went from nothing to everything in just 3 days!! (Most of it in 1 day and the poop was finally conquered on day 3!) We found the step-by-step guide really easy to follow and execute - and it even had the flexibility to tweak to fit our situation. Emily walked up to the door. She looked in, took off her diaper, sat on her potty, and went ALL BY HERSELF! I couldn't believe my eyes! She did that all by herself! Then, right before bed, I set her on the potty and she went right away! I was so excited! So then, I figured I was going to have to start the whole thing all over again today. No! She woke up, I took her to the potty, and she went right away! Then, about 20 minutes later, she said "potty potty potty..." So we rushed in and she sat there and went. She has been going on her own instincts all morning! I'm so happy! As long as she keeps this up, I consider her POTTY TRAINED!!! This is the best day of my life! I love your system. I am a pediatric nurse practitioner. The best thing about your book is its simplicity, and I can see how it can be modified depending on the personality of the child. The mention of TV while sitting on the potty is great (we don't normally watch a lot of TV so for my child its a huge deal), I put our portable DVD player in the bathroom with a Thomas the Train video and that's how I got him to sit long enough to do more than a little squirt........he was relaxed watching Thomas. He watched a whole episode while sitting on the potty! I will be recommending your book to my patients, there are so many that delay potty training because they don't know how to start, and its explained in such a simple manner. Thank you!

Potty Boot Camp"....GENIUS!!!

I potty trained my youngest of 3 boys this week using help from your book. All of my boys were trained in a week, but I want to thank you for the list and flow charts, they were extremely helpful. This time it was much less stressful and quicker than the first two times, and I know it was because I had a clear plan and could refer to the timer and the flowchart. Thanks for the help. My favorite part was definitely the flowchart because I am a visual learner! I will definitely recommend your book and technique to my friends!

I am a very happy mom after using your program! My son, Noah is 2 1/2 years old and I chose to wait to potty train him on my summer off, since I'm a teacher. I have been researching potty training programs since he was about 18 months old and started showing his first "readiness signs." My daycare provider gave me a head's up about your program, so I looked into it. Potty Boot Camp was the best laid out method I had ever seen! I heard of Potty Boot Camp from my friend who said I should look it up. One Friday I got the itch and looked into it. My son Tyler was 2 1/2 when I started the Potty Boot Camp. Never in a million years did I think I would attempt training at that age and I also had 11 month old twins at the time. Tyler was the boy who wanted NOTHING to do with going potty, he would watch us and flush the toilet but don't dare put him on it. I started on a Saturday morning, followed the directions to a T and by the following Friday he was potty trained. AMAZING, the poop training took about another week and at the end of two weeks he was completely potty trained, even sleeping through the night with underwear on.

Thank you so much for this book. I potty trained my 3 year old in less than a day! After one accident that she cleaned up, there were no more. I started the training at 8 a.m. and she told me she had to go potty before lunch. A day that began with a little girl crying as I took off her diaper ended with a very proud and excited little princess. (She wanted all princess toys for reward!) People are shocked with the success. Thank you!!

I have to admit, I was very skeptical of this plan. I have always believed that children will do it when they are ready. That's what my oldest daughter did! Well, at 34 months her younger sister was still not showing any signs of readiness and didn't care if she was wet or dirty and stinky. She could have worn the fullest, heaviest diaper and never said a word. Finally, I decided it was time to intervene or she would be going to college in diapers! We started on Thursday with the boot camp and by Sunday Tessa was self-initiating and knowing when she had to go!! She was so proud of herself when she "got it." I don't know what exactly worked and what didn't, but it did! The drills weren't so good and we had to adjust those a bit. She's so stubborn that it just turned into a power struggle. I could see how this would be more important and work better for the younger ones. It's a great plan and works if you know your child, makes adjustments when neccessary and most importantly, RELAX! I realized that once I was calm and relaxed, Tessa was much more receptive to the training. Thanks for the easy to follow flow-chart. That's what worked best for us. When we were in the moment and thinking ou child is never going to get this, the flow chart(which I put on the refrigerator for easy reference) would bring me back to the moment at hand and help me to remember what I should do next (instead of throwing my hands up in frustration!). Whatever....this plan works! Stick to it and it will work. It took our daughter 4 days (and she still will have accidents...that's expected) before it clicked for her.

WOW! Thank you, thank you, thank you for making it so easy. I had flipped through the first 40 pages of about 10 different books and thought, there HAS to be a better way, please can't someone just tell me??!! And there you were. Gigi (2 1/2 years) asked to use the potty before her nap on the first day and by day 3 was going on her own every time. I had my doubts those first couple hours (and accidents) but if you stick with it and do what you say it will work. We are all very happy!

Boot Camp was hell but look at us now! I wanted to thank Suzanne Riffel for a short, easy guide to potty training. You won't believe our story.I thought my daughter was mentally ready for potty training. She showed an interest in using the potty at just 20 months. So I put her through 2 days of potty boot camp. It was rough and she just didn't seem to get it. I made the decision that she wasn't physically ready for potty training yet and put her back in diapers. A month later my daughter started asking to sit on the potty. I was astounded. I realized she had learned EVERYTHING she needed to know during boot camp. She just needed a few more weeks to mature. I put her in panties and we haven't looked back. She acts as if she's done it for months. Other moms are shocked and I'm so proud! I am so glad I put in the hard worth with the boot camp. Because even though I didn't realize it at the time...it worked perfectly! Thank you Potty Boot Camp!

I just wanted to give you an update on how well the potty boot camp worked for my son. I started him at 18 months. It worked beautifully! He is 19 1/2 months now, and does a great job. I have a friend that borrowed your book, and she has found great success also with her two-year-old.

My daughter was 26 months when we did this and it worked. After reading several other books it was so nice to have clear cut instructions on what to do. I ordered the e-book, went shopping, and trained the very next day. We also got the Kalencom 2-in-1 potty on the go and that has taken almost all of my germ fear out of using public restrooms. She can use the potty anywhere! Now if I could just teach her not to touch anything in bathroom stalls. Thank you so much for making this experience easy for me.

Thank you sooo much for writing down your methods for potty training! I am a 21 year old single mother, and I had no idea where to even begin. My daughter is 20 months old and was ready to potty train very early. I put it off for a long time because I didn't think she was ready. Then last month I decided she was ready, but she had lost interest. I found your book on E-bay and began using the methods 5 days ago. She is now potty trained and loving it! She even lets me know in the night when she needs to get up and go potty!! The first day was the easiest, and the second was the hardest, but by the third day she was a pro! Your book was very helpfull for us, and I appreciate it very much.

Your method is really great. Our little toddler hasn't had any accidents merely 7 days after we started. Even poo is not a problem. We once forgot to give her a diaper before nap time and she just woke up from it asking to pee on her potty. And this morning she was complaining because she peed in her diaper... So, we are very proud of her and very thankful for your method.

Even though we parents say we don't compare our kids to others..it's a lie! Secretly we love it when our kids are "ahead." Thanks to the Boot Camp, my daughter is trained sooner than 90% of the other kids at her daycare.

We tried the "train in a day" methods before. When I saw that the Boot Camp incorporated some of the same methods, I was skeptical. We decided to stop training for a few weeks and start again but this time using the "enlistment" procedures and the "intervals" follow-up. THIS TIME IT WORKED! My son is now potty trained! I just spent Saturday to Wednesday doing the potty boot camp with my 19 month old son. I knew my son was ready but, had such a hard time finding a program for younger children to help me. I am the type that if I do not know something I research it and figure someone has a book out on it. I was so excited to find this succinct book at Barnes and Noble online and never looked back. I think it took me longer to get everything I needed that it did to train my son. I want to thank you for your research and for your brief explanations. My son, Sebastian, did not self initiate until the evening of the third day and I had to do two full days of day 1 but after that- he did it always on his own. We started giving him small toys as rewards for peeing/pooping in the potty as well as letting him go into his closet and pick a larger toy to play with and it seemed to do the trick! He started out wanting the rewards after each success, but after a few days he didn't even both with them. He initiates each time he needs to go and we also take him before and after going out for a walk, and before and after his nap, and he pees or poops as soon as he sits down. It's awesome.

Thanks a billion for writing such a fantastic & to the point manual for parents. It never occured to me to have my kiddos clean up their own messes, not that I'm opposed to it, I just never thought to do it! This has been a huge help to our family, in so many ways. You're a blessing :)

All of my friends have toddlers within 8 weeks of each other. I am the first to potty train. I am definitely going to tell all of them to use The Potty Bootcamp. I know you hear this all the time, but Thank You. Thank you so much. Now I just have to pray that she keeps up all the good work.

My little 21-month Jasper graduated today, on day 4 (though he could have been considered so yesterday, as he only had an accident when he was ready for bed - soooo tired). I considered him done when he said, "mama!", patted my leg, and pointed to the potty, and there was poop! Yay! Thank you so much for publishing your method!

The wonderful news is that my Daughter Sandria after only one day was accident free and self initiating. Last night was her second night in panties and dry. I officially say she is graduated from the program. Yes that is a total of 5 days!!!! Yippee….. A wonderful Christmas Gift for me!!! I LOVE YOU!! I have been trying to potty train (pee not poo--she got the poo down from day 1) my daughter who turned 3 in September since last march--10 months!! We have tried numerous approaches and would be successful (and looking back I wouldn't really consider it successful) during the summer I put her back in diapers because I could not take it anymore. She would never initiate and would finally go to the potty after sitting in her wet "big girls" for who knows how long. I had, had it and a few days ago and I went scouring the internet for more help--(something I had done numerous times) I found myself on your book and bought he e-version!! Best money I have ever spent. I knew I had found the right book when I read your procedure for day #1!! This is what we were missing--I didn't know how to handle it when she peed, I had tried many approaches and they didn't seem to be doing anything. I knew my 3 year old and I knew this was they answer!! We are on day 3 (naked and $75) and she is finally initiating that she needs to go. I had to leave my house today for a short period and she stopped me to tell me she needed to go potty during the outing. She was dry when she went and peed a river!! Best feeling EVER!! Also right before we left she said "I think I better go potty before we leave"!! I still want to be safe so I am keeping her naked for a couple of more days. She just keeps telling me that she is naked because she is learning. Thank you thank you!!!

After several (failed) attempts at potty training my 31 month old son, I stumbled across your book online. I bought it and started implementing your strategies right away. My son started self-initiating by the end of the first day! I couldn't believe how much easier it was when I had the right tools. I think my initial problem was that I had actually done too much research and my plan wasn't cohesive enough. I love that your program includes all the best parts of several plans. My daughter Alivia is nearly 4 and incredibly stubborn. We have tried several different methods of training over the past year but after weeks with little progress we always gave up. The Potty Boot Camp is AWESOME!!!! I have several friends who used the boot camp method to potty train with great results but I was still a bit skeptical.
